Energy and carbon

Energy use and emissions measured per line, site and product, and reported from the same data.

What we build

Energy is usually a monthly bill and emissions a yearly spreadsheet. We capture energy from meters, PLCs and bills, set baselines for an ISO 50001 energy review, and calculate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions to the GHG Protocol with versioned factors.

  • Sub-metering and data capture from meters, PLCs and utility bills
  • Energy baselines and indicators set up for an ISO 50001 energy review
  • Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions to the GHG Protocol, with versioned factors
  • Carbon per product or batch, linked to production records
  • BRSR, CSRD and CDP reports drawn from one dataset
  • Alerts for idle loads, demand peaks and compressed-air leaks

03 · Features

What it does well

  • 01

    Metered, not estimated

Energy is read from meters and machines where they exist, and estimates are labelled.

  • 02

    Versioned factors

Every emission factor has a source and a version, so last year’s figures can be reproduced.

  • 03

    Per product

Energy and emissions are allocated to batches and products from production records.

  • 04

    One dataset

Operations, finance and sustainability reports read the same numbers.

  • 05

    Waste alerts

Loads running when the line is idle, and demand peaks, are flagged as they happen.

  • 06

    Audit trail

Each reported figure links back to its meter readings, bills and factors.

04 · FAQ

Questions

Will this get us ISO 50001 certified?

No. Certification is issued by an accredited body after an audit of your energy management system. We build the data side of it: metering, baselines, indicators and records, so your energy review and the audit have reliable numbers to work from.

How do you handle Scope 3, where data is thin?

We start with spend-based estimates for each category, clearly labelled, and replace them with supplier or activity data as it arrives. The report shows which figures are measured, which are calculated and which are estimated, and how that mix changes over time.

Do we need new meters?

Often only a few. We start with what you have: utility meters, PLC power readings, drives and bills, and add sub-meters where a large or uncertain load needs its own measurement. The plan is ranked by how much each meter would tell you.
